Hello Sixth Grade families,
I am so excited about our new school year. This is my nineteenth year teaching Sixth grade, and I look forward to the tremendous growth we will see in our Sixth Grade students over the next few months.
I am originally from a small central valley town called Oildale, which is a suburb of Bakersfield. I moved up to Sonoma County to go to Sonoma State University. I eventually graduated with a B.A in Environmental Studies, and went on to get my teaching credential from SSU. Along the way, I spent many years working with students with special needs. I also devoted many years to the environmental restoration field, as a horticulturist, and still find ways to involve our students in this wonderful work.
My husband Greg and I have two daughters, Tanya and Coral, who are both Liberty alumni.
Sixth grade is an important year in your student's lives. It is the transitional year from elementary school to junior high. Working together we can create a school year that ensures that our students take responsibility for their learning as they begin this important passage in their lives. I look forward to working with you!
