Dear Kindergarten/ First Grade Families,

Many may know that my ties to Liberty are very strong.  I have been a part of the Liberty community in various ways throughout my life, including being the K/1 teacher for the past 17 years. Being a former graduate of Liberty School, I realize what a truly special place it is.

I completed my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with a CLAD emphasis at Dominican University in the spring of 2002.  I completed my undergraduate studies at Sonoma State University.  I earned a BA with an emphasis in Human Development.  My roots in the profession run deep.  I have been involved in volunteering, aiding and teaching in classrooms throughout Sonoma County for over 24 years.  You will find that I am an extremely hard worker and I am very dedicated to enriching the lives of my students.

Besides my love for teaching, I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, outdoor activities, and traveling. I have been married for 15years to my husband, Tony and we have a daughter entering 6th grade this year, Maddie and a 5 1/2 year old (Paige) who is excited to be a part of the Kindergarten class. They are incredible little girls and keep us very busy.  They enrich our lives with laughter, love, and happiness.

This year, I am very excited to be teaching the K/1 class, as well as continuing to be EL Specialist. I am also very fortunate to have Mrs. Florez as my aide this year. She has worked at Liberty School for the past 13 years. You will find her kindness, dedication to education, and friendly demeanor as true assets to our class.  As always, I will be working closely with Mrs. Sapiane and Mrs. Baxman.  Together we have coordinated wonderful and exciting activities, lessons/units, and field trips. This year will be a time of amazing social and academic growth for your child.

Volunteers are warmly welcomed in my class.  With your help we can learn even more and enjoy many field trips. Volunteers may take projects home to work on, help in the classroom and accompany us on field trips.  Please let me know at Back to School Night, Wednesday, August 28th if you would like to volunteer.    I will explain our curriculum and daily routines at this time.  I look forward to an exciting school year filled with lots of fun and education!
